John Billingslea-Whyde is a graduate of Capital University Law School, where he earned a certificate of concentration in Children and Family Law. His practice focuses on estate planning and probate matters. He has considerable experience working with gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender individuals, as well as, others in non-traditional families.

John maintains membership in the following organizations: American Bar Association, Ohio State Bar Association, Columbus Bar Association, and National LGBT Law Association.

In addition to his law degree, John has earned several other degrees, including an undergraduate degree from Hiram College and a Masters of Library Science degree from Kent State University.

John and his husband, Duane, live in the Merion Village area of Columbus. John has two grown children and two grandchildren.
